We all have that one day (or those few days) where everything feels gloomy and sad, even though the sun is shining happily outside and the radio is blasting your favorite energy-pumping song. And to many of us, desserts lighten up those gloomy days. Especially chocolate. A lot of gloomy days can be cured with a shot of chocolate.
With that concept in mind, Bogor-based architecture studio Ematey designed the interior of Alania Chocolava.
Recently, Nomad Bananas was honored to be invited to the grand opening of Alania Chocolava’s newest addition to the franchise: a spacious cafe located by the side of TB Simatupang Avenue, one of the biggest and most important roads in Jakarta.
Alania Chocolava is a desserts place that specializes in a variety of chocolava cakes: that cake that has hot liquid chocolate oozing out of it when we cut it. They also provide cakes and sweet snacks such as biscuits, cookies, and Indonesian traditional snacks. All of their products revolve around the same ingredient: chocolate.
Ematey designed the space of the cafe to make visitors feel as if they are in the heart of a chocolava cake. Featuring walls covered in cute colorful raindrops, custom-made lamps that resemble chocolate clouds, as well as oozing chocolate graphics that connect the ceiling and the walls, the design truly made us feel as if we were enjoying a chocolava cake inside a chocolava cake.
If you’re in Jakarta, don’t miss out Alania Chocolava TB Simatupang.
