Krave Cafe, Singapore: Not Just Your Another Cafe in Bali Lane

Hey there!

Fi’s turn to cafe hop this time. After coming back to SG, days have gone just flat for the past month, hence the cafe hopping. We’re covering one cafe in Bali Lane, Singapore. One of the hottest cafe in the area, and I think one of the best one as well.

Let me tell you why..

KRAVE

Located strategically along Bali Lane. Seems like a very straight forward and typical cafe around this area but what I love the most about this place is the FOOOOOD. Awesome awesome one. The two-storey cafe, serves you western food with a twist of malay dishes in it. Remember the scene of Remy in the movie Ratatouille tried both cheese and strawberry and there was a fireworks from the food explosion? Similar to that, was my first impression of the food there.

They have cute little details around the cafe too.

I went there with my friends, we decided to order the salmon steak with cheese sauce (I can’t remember the dish names but yeah, that’s that and the cheese sauce was the bomb!), a steak (the beef steak thing), rendang bolognese, and a truffle fries. I personally thing the rendang bolognese was just so-so, though, but the rest of the foods was amazeballs! Truffle fries is also one for their popular bit there.

I’ve been lucky enough I guess. For my last two first-time visits to a cafe, it’s been a great one. #happytummy hahahaha!

Oh..
One more thing! This place, has a mascot. A cat! God knows how much I love cats.

Definitely worth the visit! And it’s one of those cafes that I will come back again and again, just like what the name tells you, you’ll Krave their food!

Cheers,

Fi

The Lokal, Singapore: A Jewel Alongside Neil Road

Hey all!

Fi’s here.

So this post was a about a very impromptu lunch with my colleagues just a couple days back. It was a Friday, and a very flat one. Although it is a mid-month crisis already, we were craving for something beside just the usual lunch (we usually have nasi padang or just something affordable from a food court). And after browsing through good cafes or restaurants around my office area, Tanjong Pagar, and The Lokal came out in almost every sites we clicked.

Quite a distance walk, but hey, it is a Friday, we received an email from our boss that we could go off early, and there’s no work to rush – so why not.

Located along Neil Road, you’ll be able to locate this Australia-inspired cafe pretty easily.
From the outside, it looks ordinary, but just one step in to this cafe, the very first reaction I had was “wow.. Niceee”. I knew right at that second, this place is a great place. With a fusion of classic and funky interior, brings the extra chill vibe inside here.

Come to the menu, they actually have a pretty straight forward list and as from the review we read that the portion is pretty big (and some meal costs you like SGD 18 – but it’s a worth it 18 bucks) we decided to order a number of foods and share-eating it among the five of us. And yes, to me personally, I wouldn’t be able to finish one dish to my self as it is pretty huge for my liking. The pasta of the day was right for one person tho.

What we ordered (enough to fill 5 ladies’ tummy hahaha):

  • Roast Chicken Ciabatta, with avocado, romaine lettuce, tomato, bacon, and aiolli dressing
  • The Lokal Lobster Roll (one of the most raved dish here)
  • Pasta of the day – Beef Meatball pasta
  • For dessert, the famous sticky date pudding with ice cream

One word for the foods; SUPERB! I personally will come back here with at least 3 people coming along as I would prefer sharing the dishes so that you can try everything rather than having one dish to one self. Gotta try the sticky date pudding it is the bomb diggity!

On top of it, the cafe smells delish coming from the foods, coffee and cakes that they’re selling. Brings the happiness in me!

Go try it for your self!
