Miss Bee Providore, Bandung: Feels Like Home (Part 2)

Hi, folks!

Some of you might have known that Fi and I caught up in a really fun lunch/tea-time at Miss Bee Providore, which is a restaurant in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. You might have read Fi’s post, but if you haven’t, you can click here. As Fi has covered how the place was overall and how the food was (delicious!), I’m here to discuss about the interior design of this place.

I LOVE the interior of Miss Bee Providore!

The restaurant was an old house refurnished into a restaurant, with additional spaces in its backyard and a glass house by its side. To its front, we find a parking lot and a small garden.

The whole area has a modern but vintage feel. We find wooden planks or metal sheets reused as signs, modern furniture that look like they come from the 50s or 60s (in muted colors, giving a comfortable feel to the whole space), and unusual use of architectural feats. The graphics, interiors, and products are designed under one same theme, so even though the colors and shapes vary, you can still feel the unity.

The interior of the main building has a cozy atmosphere to it. By using products that look like they come out from an Eames’ catalogue, they created different spaces which delivers a very comfortable and private space for the visitors to dwell in.

Beside the main building, we encounter a patio under glass roof. Beside the patio, we see a glass house that has been refurnished as a bar. In the patio, we see a lot of white and blue, bringing a neutral shade to the outdoor area while making us reminisce the blue sky with its pads. However, inside the glass house, we see a more powerful representation of vintage tiles and the color yellow (which is the color of the brand). Trees that grow inside and tree slabs create a natural look and feel.

Behind the main building, we find an extension to the house that shelters 3 tables. Using darker tones and the color yellow, with traditional materials found in the area, the narrow extension becomes a private space for a more personal time with the people you love.

The bottles serve as decoration and give the space a more sophisticated look.

And, behind this extension, we find the bathroom. We love how they arrange the washbasins and choose white as the main color. With dark grey cement as its backdrop and mirror without borders, the white brightens up the narrow alley and invites people to use the bathroom like they use it in their own homes.

Back to the main building, we go up to the second floor. The area in the second floor is reserved for special occasions on request. They feature yet again the 50s-60s style of design while using traditional materials found in the area. To complement the whole look of being part of Miss Bee Providore, we found a lot of yellow, in bright and in muted tones, decorating the whole space.

Last but not least, the thing that attracted us about the whole design of this place is the small details that you can find throughout the whole venue. It gives off a very unique charm that defines what Miss Bee Providore is.
